20 Reasons Not To Choose Sin
It always overpromises and underdelivers.
The one tempting you towards it is called the “father of lies” and “crafty”. I can’t trust the one behind it.
Sin has never made me happier, the longer I do it. It only makes me sadder.
Sin harms my soul in more ways than I can often see.
Sin harms others around me in more ways than I can often see.
Sin is unloving.
Because Christ died to set me free from sin.
Because I love God. (Or want to love God)
Because obedience is an act of worship. And I want to worship God.
Because I can find a better, more satisfying pleasure in Jesus Christ. (Even though that is hard)
Because Jesus never sinned and was perfectly happy, wanting nothing. So if I want true happiness, it must mean sin will not make me happy.
Because God tells me not to.
Because sin always starts small, but grows into something uncontrollable.
Because I want to be the same in my public and private life, that’s a special kind of worship.
I want God to trust me.
I want more joy, not less.
I want my life to count for something.
Because sin is selfish, and I don’t want to cultivate a selfish heart.
Because choosing sin trains me to be a consumer, and I want to be spiritually productive for others.
Because fellowship with Jesus is better.
